The Bird of Paradise
As the flower of flames rise, gliding up to the roof.
An evergreen pole holds the weight of the bird.
Prickly leaves swarm the inner flower piece.
Fresh water saves this strange plant from drying to death.
It´s a lazy bird because it hardly moves.
This paradise is a wonder as it flies through the air.

The Dog Chase
I walk in, looking at the leprechaun grass and the sky which was blue as the ocean. Papa brings in the soccer ball, we... KICK! Afterwards another visitor comes to the field. She was leading a dog which was black furred.
The doggy starts to stare at the soccer ball and starts investigating me and soon I sprint like Sonic. Woof! Bark! Woof! The black dog´s owner yells and the black doggy quickly speeds back to it´s owner. I see his owner swinging a dog toy and a small ball comes out and the dog zooms right to the ball across the field. He gives the ball back and the owner swings the dog toy again.
I glance up to look at the clouds which were fluffy as cotton candy. Soon we have a talk to the dog´s owner and she said that the dog was friendly which was lucky. Soon we leave the field.

A Nervous Story
As I stepped in...
¨Soccer!¨ A boy in blue shouted quite of a guided. Then I saw my leadership training teacher as he said his name was David Cirtus. I was quite shy so I stayed near my mum because those kids were like though boys. There was only 1 girl and the rest were boys.
Mr Cirtus spoke handsomely while we were silent like nothing. He chose 2 leaders and the 2 leaders chose teammates for the team. Our 1st team work activity game made us use pipes and each team got one hard sports ball. For some reason Mr Cirtus turned on this party music that went like ohhhhh! The pipes looked like if Mr Cirtus stole them from Mario. We lined our pipes about 10 metres away from the chair which was the winning goal if the ball went on the chair but not fell off the chair. We team-worked and we were kind of close to the goal but then... PLOP! The ball dropped onto the ground so we had to quickly run back to the beginning. Just when the other team had got to the goal! We went back to the listening area and listened.
Mr Cirtus talked about the last game which was hockey. A game I had not played before so I might fail.
¨3...2...1...GO!¨ The game had started. So far so good until someone missed the ball and it flew away. The opponent team caught the ball and scored it into the goal. Oh well. Then someone called my name... ¨Get the ball Levi!¨ I swung my hockey as much energy I could put into it as my teammates got the ball and swung the ball hard into the goal! Soon all of us had to go home. I hope there´s my favourite game, hockey the next time I go there.

The Storage Unit
Dear Mr Phil Goff
The dark barrier blocks the view. A faded pale construction takes over the light. Mini Trumps have arrived to ruin our fun. The deep storm eats the angel cotton. If you added paint to this wall then it would be better. But you will build a twin building which makes me more angry. The builders build and build the 20m wall until our school doesn´t have much view any more. So please do change this storage unit´s location. I am a student from Hobsonville Primary school.

Roller coaster talk with Charlie
¨Have you ever been to a roller coaster?¨ I asked.
¨Yeah! Have you!?¨ Charlie said.
¨I haven´t yet.¨
¨Well you should.¨
¨My stomach feels weird when I go on a fun ride.¨
¨Okay,¨ Charlie answered.

A Hard Desert
I´m walking in the Hard Desert, I only have a knife and some food, I have a water bottle too but I drank it all. I´m so thirsty and so sweating and just then, something caught my eye... A CACTUS!! I do a happy little dance... oh! and I can see a vulture actually I can see two vultures! They look hungry, waiting for it´s prey. They´re salivating and jaws snapping. I sneak past them but just then I fall and roll a couple times. The vultures heard me! I grab my knife and I sliced the first one in half! SQUAWK! I cut the other one´s head off and I smell the blood and rot. I reached to the cactus and sliced it and ate some of the cactus and I drank it. It was good, YUM! Then I continued to walk the way of the cactus and realised I walked into a field of cacti! I see houses too and the people gave me water and food and gave me lots of things to settle off. As I walk slowly to the desert airport which is still 38 kilometres away, I feel that the wind is blowing and it´s really strong. Then I start the see sand flying everywhere and realise it´s a SANDSTORM!! There´s tumbleweeds, sand everywhere and vultures flying for help. I saw something that I never knew existed which was a sand-worm! I hear the sand-worm digging through the sand and it´s about to come up! I dodge it coming up to the air but sand covers me. I´m going to suffocate. The worm was gone though and I dug dug and I was free now. After a few minutes, the sandstorm was over. I see some sand mountains and for some reason they have hair on them. I walk closer and closer and then I realised they were camels drinking water! I followed them. There were hundreds and thousands. I soon found the airport! I go on the plane and look at the window to the desert, the last time.

How heat energy is transferred.
All matter contains heat energy. ... Heat energy is the result of the movement of tiny particles called atoms molecules or ions in solids, liquids and gases. Heat energy can be transferred from one object to another, and the transfer or flow due to the difference in temperature between the two objects is called heat.
For example, an ice cube has heat energy and so does a glass of lemonade. If you put the ice in the lemonade, the lemonade (which is warmer) will transfer some of its heat energy to the ice. In other words, it will heat up the ice. Eventually, the ice will melt and the lemonade and water from the ice will be the same temperature. This is known as reaching a state of thermal equilibrium.

Swimming
I hopped into the pool, it was warm! I glide through the water, flipping as the water threatens my nose and ears. Listening to James the teacher, I kick in the water, rolling in the pool. Playing hide 'n' seek with swimming toys, I dive to the bottom to reach them.

Stages towards student agency
I think I am a guided because I always never listen and miss out on the important information and talk. Rarely I move from my friends to a different spot. But I am guided so I need to be an agent or self directed.

Cicadas
Cicadas
The shell is like crispy chips,
drinking sap from trees,
green from every shed shell,
spiky claws and a spiky bottom,
some hair on its body and legs.
